FEMA Funeral Assistance Applications to Open
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has announced that beginning, Monday, April 12, 2021 Funeral Assistance Applications may begin to be submitted via their call center. Only one application will be accepted for a qualifying deceased individual. If more than one person is claiming reimbursement for funeral related expenses, they must enter their request on the application as a co-applicant.
FEMA recognizes that many families experiencing deaths related to COVID-19 were not able to have in-person memorial services or arrange for final interment. The Funeral Assistance Program is allowing families the opportunity to arrange for desired services prior to submitting an application for financial relief.
