Sharing a story that Jerry and I pleasured over for 6 decades, including in the hospital 5 days before his passing...Jerry and I met at the Lancaster Grace Brethren Church some time during the late 1960s. Our families clicked and enjoyed each other. When the church wanted to move a new pastor from LA, California, Jerry, the experienced long haul truck driver was the one who they turned to to move him East. Jerry and I and our wives flew to California for a week vacation, with the wives flying home and Jerry and I renting a truck to bring the pastor's possessions across country. Little did we realize what a life long experience this would be. The truck we rented had a 55 mph monitor on it. It nearly drove us, especially Jerry, almost crazy crawling all the way across the country in a light truck with that 55 mph limiting monitor. We got to know each other deeply during that trip and enjoyed each other through the rest of our entire lives, knowing we would also spend eternity with the Lord Jesus. It's amazing and wonderful to lose the friendship of someone you love but be able to rejoice knowing it's temporary. Until I see him again with the Lord I will not forget the long intimate conversations we shared. Be seeing you soon Jer.
