I have such a deep respect for Ray Beyer. He lived well and showed others Christ in his everyday interactions. I first met Ray when I joined the sound/audio team at Hammer Creek. He taught me the ins and outs of the church system and as time went on, showed me how to run it, make needed purchases, and troubleshoot different concerns that came up. I think of a specific example when we were running new wire or installing the new booth, he showed me where to find all my wires above the ceiling tiles in the basement. He didn't just tell me how to do something, he showed me. Ray was one of the first people to encourage me after I began leading as a choruster for our church. He would point out when I lead his favorites and mention a suggestion that he thought I would enjoy learning to lead. I remember the Sunday after I took a class in hand motions while leading, Ray came up to me and said "you get better at leading every Sunday". He was such an encouragement and spirred people on to keep giving the Lord their best. I also can testify of Ray's love for his family. During my visits to Ray and Mary Ann's home, they had their family pictures through the living room and I would get to hear stories of their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. I could tell he wanted to and enjoyed being part of their lives. Im going to miss Ray's smile.... his confident bass... the joy on his face... his encouragement... his strong and welcoming handshake. A friend and mentor to me. I'm so blessed to have known him and look forward to our reunion in heaven.
