Obituary of Thomas A. Booze

Thomas A. Booze, 72, of Lititz, PA, formerly of Georgetown, DE and Rio Rancho, NM, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Lancaster General Hospital and is now in the arms of Jesus.  Born in Milford, DE, he was the son of the late James A. Booze, Jr. and Eva L. Gardner Booze.  He was the husband of Maurine R. Joseph Booze for 55 years on November 23.

Tom was a devoted Christian who saw every situation as an opportunity to witness for Christ.  For many years, he was employed by Safeway Markets at various stores in Delaware.  He began his pastoral ministry as youth pastor of the former Mountville Baptist Church.  In 1991, he moved to New Mexico where he pastored the Bernalillo Independent Baptist Church for seven years.  He also pastored Charity Baptist Church in Rio Rancho, NM and was a driver for Rio Rancho Public School Transportation before retiring in 2021.  Most recently, he was a member of Middle Creek Church where he got active in the missions ministries and participated in a men’s Bible study.  He was also involved with Men of Iron ministries and was a spiritual mentor to other men.

Tom earned a bachelor’s degree in Bible from Liberty University and a Master’s degree in Theology. He also studied Greek at Lancaster Bible College.  He was a learned student of the Bible and enjoyed discussing scripture and future prophesy with others.  He was a multi-talented man who set goals and achieved them through his very methodical approach.  He was also generous in sharing his knowledge and abilities with others.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Tracey A., wife of Brian R. Bauman of Lancaster and their children, Gabrielle Bauman of Philadelphia and Logan Bauman of Lancaster; Andrea S., wife of Emmanuel E. Lovato of Rio Rancho, NM and their children, Tyler Clark of Indianapolis and Sierra Clark of Rio Rancho; and Kristy R., wife of Jimmie S. Savoie of Lebanon and their children, Mackenzi (Justin) Schaffner of Harrisburg and Delaney Savoie of Lebanon.  He was also survived by a brother, David Booze; a sister-in-law, Cyndi (Knight) Johnson, wife of Larney Johnson, of Milford, DE; and a niece, Courtney, wife of Kris Connelly, of Milford, DE.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, James A. Booze, Jr.

Tom’s family expresses appreciation to the Warwick Twp. EMS, Rothsville Fire Department, and the emergency room staff at LGH for their help and support provided to Tom and their family.
