Obituary of Harry A. Lefever

Harry A. Lefever, 87, of Lititz, PA, formerly of Lancaster, peacefully entered the Lord’s presence on Friday evening, April 18, 2025 at home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Lester C. Lefever, Sr. and Anna E. Campbell Lefever. He was the husband of Mary C. Pfautz Lefever for 27 years on August 7.

Harry was a member of Lititz Moravian Church. One way he supported the church was by collating (aka “stuffing”) weekly bulletins. He also supported the cap ministry of the church by knitting hundreds of caps for infants which were given to the pediatric departments at Hershey Medical Center and other hospitals.

He was a truck driver his entire life and retired in 2000 as a yard jockey at the former Warner-Lambert in Lititz. His outdoor interests and hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time at his cabin, Inn at Drifting, in Clearfield County. Harry also enjoyed watching college football and cheering on the Phillies. Cooking was also a passion and making chili was a specialty of his.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Lynne A., wife of Daniel Fant, of Red Lion, Cathi J., wife of Michael Weimer, of Lancaster, Craig A., husband of Cathy Lefever, of Lancaster, Rhonda Roos of Manheim, and Heidi, wife of James Bushong, of Lititz; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and a sister, Patricia Andreadis of Lancaster. He was also the stepfather to eight stepchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Shawn A. Lefever; a grandson, Andrew Steffy; and a brother, Lester Lefever, Jr.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Lititz Moravian Church, 8 Church Square, Lititz, PA 17543. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. There will be no viewing. Private interment will be in the Lititz Moravian Church Memorial Garden.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38108-9959, or to Book of Remembrance at Lititz Moravian Church, 8 Church Square, Lititz, PA 17543, or to Hospice and Community Care, 685 Good Drive, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
