Obituary of E. Richard Bruckhart
E. Richard Bruckhart, 86, of Manheim, PA, went to be with Jesus on Sunday morning, June 29, 2025 at Pleasant View Retirement Community. Born in Rapho Twp., he was the son of the late Elmer K. and Beulah M. Herr Bruckhart. He was the husband of the late L. Ruth Hershey Bruckhart for 64 years prior to her death in 2024.
Richard farmed the family farms in Rapho Twp. most of his life. When not working, he enjoyed attending public auctions. He had a love of looking at farmland whether he was driving his truck or on his scooter.
Richard was a faithful member of Hernley Mennonite Church in Manheim. Later in life, he and Ruth supported Mennonite Disaster Service traveling to their annual meetings across America. Although Richard had a quiet faith, he generously supported those in need.
He is survived by two daughters, Rosene wife of Ron Weaver, of Ephrata, and their children Ronita (Michael) Horning, Rodney (Rochelle), Rylan, Randon (Kayla), Rendell (Claryn), Ronica (Brandon) Good, and Rondre; and Romaine wife of Glenn Hollinger of Ephrata, and their children Andrea, Matthew (Anna), Bethany, Micah (Abigail), Joanna (Travis) Wengerd, Jordan, and Bradley; two sons, Richard L. husband of Denise (Haldeman) Bruckhart of Manheim, and their children Ryan (Luanna) and Bryce (Jessica); and Randall husband of Julie (Hershey) Bruckhart of Cohagen, MT, and their children Courtney (Nicholas) Peterson, Derick (Rachel), Kaylin (Matthew) Thonsgaard, and Zachary; 30 great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert, husband of Margaret Bruckhart, of Lititz. He was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Roberta Fern Bruckhart; and two sisters, Lillian Spanier and Darlene Weaver.
The Bruckhart family wishes to express appreciation to the staff at Pleasant View Retirement Community for the attentive care they provided to Richard during his time there.
A funeral will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 4:00 PM at Hernley Mennonite Church, 746 Lebanon Road, Manheim, PA. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. His family will receive guests during a public viewing at the church on Friday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of the service.
