Obituary of Dr. James T. Morgan

Dr. James T. Morgan, 84, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born in New York City, he was the son of the late Peter and Elizabeth Morgan.

James grew up in NYC and graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School. After high school, he joined the Xaverian Brothers in Baltimore, MD. Throughout his 11 years with the Brothers, he cultivated a deep knowledge of various spiritual disciplines and developed a lifelong love for learning. This passion led him to continue his education and earn a bachelor's degree, two master's degrees, a Doctor of Education degree, and a post-doctorate. He also made lasting friendships with many of his "brothers" that continued throughout his entire life.

James loved spending time with his wife, Maureen. They loved to travel, dance the night away, and visit his daughter Deborah and family in PA. Out of all of his titles, being known as "Pa" to his grandsons was his greatest blessing.

James was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Maureen; his brother Peter Morgan; and his sisters Mary Dadario, Anna Garvey, Susan Hill, and Bridget Tyler. He is survived by his daughter Debbie Glass, son-in-law Greg Glass, three grandsons, Blake, Gavin, and Kyle Glass; sisters Margaret Jordan and Joan Reilly, brother John Morgan, and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the staff of Magnolias of Lancaster and Grane Hospice for their love, care, and support for James.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 19 at 11 AM at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 601 E Delp Rd., Lancaster, PA with a visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of James can be made to Grane Hospice, 1010 Plymouth Road, Suite D, York, PA 17402.  To express a condolence with the family, visit www.spencefuneralservices.com.
