Obituary of Ray G. Ginder

Ray G. Ginder, 96, of Manheim, PA, passed away into the loving arms of his Savior on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at home, surrounded by his family. Born in Salunga, PA, he was the son of the late Elam H. and Ella L. Kline Ginder. He was the husband of the late Marian J. Diehm Ginder for 58 years at time of her passing in 2013.

Ray was a member of Ruhl's Church in Manheim where he served as a trustee and an usher, as well as serving on the church board. During the Korean War, he was enlisted in the United States Army as a Corporal. He was employed as an automotive mechanic for eight years by the former L.L. Book DeSoto Plymouth dealership in Manheim and later as a Master Technician for the former Zartman Dodge in Lititz for 36 years.

After retirement, he continued to work for Zartman doing a wide range of tasks. Also, in retirement, he was employed as a courier for his daughter’s businesses. Ray was a member of the Manheim American Legion, Post 419. In addition to being a diehard Dodge enthusiast, he enjoyed following NASCAR. Ray was meticulous about caring for his lawn and would spend most days outside. His longevity could be attributed to his constant desire to stay active. A true patriot, Ray was often quoted as saying, “What a country!” and “Only in America do these things happen!” His greatest pleasure came from spending time with his family and attending the activities in which his grandchildren participated.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan D., wife of Jay A. Eberly, and Lori A. Kreider, both of Manheim; five grandchildren, Heather A., wife of Brian Johnson, Bradley Ginder, husband of Shana Eberly, Chad M., husband of Stacy Eberly, Kate E. Kreider, wife of Brett Albert, and Blake A., husband of Brittany Kreider; 11 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Elser Ginder.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Ruhl's Church, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim, PA 17545. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive guests at the church from 1:30 PM until the time of the service. If attending, please wear red/white/blue colors. The family requests that flowers please be omitted. If desired, contributions may be made in his memory to Ruhl's Church or to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
