Obituary of Verna Mae Stehman
Verna Mae Stehman, in her 89th year, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at home. Born in Manheim, she was the daughter of the late John S. and Anna M. Aucker Herr. She was preceded in death by her late husband 30 years, John B. Stehman, before his passing in 2006.
Verna Mae was a member of Manheim Brethren in Christ Church. She shared her gift of sewing with various mission projects of Mennonite Central Committee. She was employed by the former Travis Mills in Lititz. She enjoyed flower gardening and raising houseplants. Her two greatest passions were crocheting hats and scarves for the Salvation Army and listening to Phillies games on the radio.
She was the last of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Styron Herr, Martha Knight, Miriam Burkholder, Mary Wenger and Elmer Herr.
Services are private at the convenience of the family. Interment in Manheim Fairview will be private.
