Obituary of Frances E. Maivelett

Frances E. Maivelett, 105, of Elizabethtown, PA, formerly of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, December 10, 2025 at the Masonic Health Care Center in Elizabethtown. She resided there for nearly ten years and at the Evergreen Hospice Center during the last year of her life. Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Antonio Annello and Helena LoGrande Annello. She was the wife of the late Louis M. Maivelett.

 

Frances was a former member of the Church of the Annunciation Roman Catholic Church in Baltimore. As a young woman, Frances was a talented soprano singer and dancer and was a featured “Baltimore Follies” performer at the Hippodrome Theater in Baltimore City. Frances was also a self-taught artist and drew wonderful portraits of friends and family members from photographs. Later in life, she became involved in a number of civic groups and organizations including the Democrat Club. On one special occasion, she met with the Governor of the state of Maryland. For a number of years, she served as the President of a local Political Science Group and led lively discussions weekly on a variety of topics of interest to the community. She loved traveling by bus and took frequent trips with friends and family. On Frances’ 105th birthday, she was surrounded by dozens of her friends, family members, and staff of the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, PA. as they joined together to celebrate her life at a festive party in her honor.

 

Frances had one child, Louis Maivelett Jr., who passed away on October 16, 1947 just hours after a premature birth. The child was baptized by the Rev. Father Joseph P. Bradley before passing. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Joseph and John Annello, and her beloved sister Cosma Annello Brent-Hornberger. Frances enjoyed loving relationships with her nieces and nephews including Anthony Annello, Donna Annello Sauers, John C. Annello, Jr., Robert Brent, Laura Saintey, and Carole Sheffield. Frances had many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She also had a close and loving relationship with her Goddaughter, Laura Turko, and her family.

 

There will be an intimate memorial service for Frances at the Masonic Village at a date to be determined and the Interment will be at the Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens, Rosedale, MD on March 27, 2026 at 12:00 noon when she would have celebrated her 106th birthday.
