Obituary of Leo M. Skladany

Leo M. Skladany, 77, of Manheim, PA, formerly of Media, PA and Orion, IL, went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2026 as a result of complications from prostate cancer.  Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Marian T. O’Connor Skladany and Leo Mallon. He was adopted as a young boy by Andrew E. Skladany, MD. He was the husband of Joanne (Weathers) Skladany for over 37 years.

Leo earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate and Finance from Southern Illinois University. He was a licensed General Appraiser in Pennsylvania and New York.  Leo began his career at the Illinois Department of Revenue, and founded Skladany Valuation, LLC in 1989 in Media, subsequently moving to Lancaster. He retired in 2020, and his son Nick Leo succeeded him in the business.  Leo was a designated member of the American Society of Appraisers, an MAI candidate of the Appraisal Institute, and previously served on the board of the Commercial and Industrial Council of Lancaster County. He was also a former member of the Manheim VFW Cyrus R. Peters Memorial Post 5956 and Elstonville Sportsman’s Association.

Relaxing at his cabin in the Adirondacks, swimming, and listening to music, especially Rock & Roll and Jazz, were some of Leo’s favorite pastimes.  He also enjoyed grilling, cooking, and playing backgammon and chess.  Valued friendships were important to Leo.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Nick Leo, husband of Danielle S. (Clark) Skladany, of Lancaster; and three cousins, Anthony Ciambella, and Marian Ciambella-Rossi, wife of Mark, of Philadelphia, and Michael Ciambella, husband of Jovanna, of Rehoboth Beach, DE. Leo is also survived by his mother-in-law, Ruth W. Weathers of Glen Mills, and many extended family members.
