Obituary of Edgar E. Hoffman

Edgar E. Hoffman, 88, formerly of Manheim, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Trillium Place in Lancaster.

Born in Halifax Township, Dauphin County, he was the son of the late Clair and Catharine (Heckert) Hoffman. He was the devoted husband of the late Barbara A. (Miller) Hoffman, with whom he shared 69 years of marriage prior to her passing on November 5, 2025.

Ed was a dairy farmer and served as a Township Supervisor of Halifax. He was a long-time member of the P.F.A. and was employed by Ralston Purina, Weaver Chicken, and QVC. In 1984, Ed earned a Bachelor of Science in Bible, majoring in Pastoral Ministry, from Lancaster Bible College. He pastored the congregation of Faith Calvary in Lancaster, PA, and served as an Elder and member at Word of Life Chapel in Halifax, PA. He was also a member of Millersville Bible Church.

He is survived by four children: Peggy, wife of Donald Stauffer of Felton; Mark, husband of Tessy of Huntingdon County; Paul, husband of Kristen of Lititz; and Matthew, husband of Cheryl of Omaha, NE. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-granddaughters, and two sisters, Mary Willow of Enola and Dolly Ludwig of Carlisle.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Millersville Bible Church, 1940 New Danville Pike, Lancaster, PA. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at the church on March 21, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Private interment will take place at Bowerman’s Cemetery, Wayne Township, PA.
