Obituary of Shirley A. Benner

Shirley A. Benner, 87, of Manheim, PA, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 4, 2026 at Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community in Manheim. Born in Rapho Twp., she was the daughter of the late Paul B. and Elsie Haldeman Good. She was the wife of Paul B. Benner who passed away in 2024.

A homemaker, Shirley was a 1957 graduate of Manheim Central High School. In her younger years, she was employed as a secretary by the former Raybestos in Manheim for 15 years. She later provided childcare to her grandsons and to other children. Shirley was a member of Manheim Brethren in Christ Church where she taught children’s Sunday school.

She is survived by a daughter, Michelle L., wife of the late Joseph L. Blazek, of Lititz; three grandsons, Ethan J., Connor P. and Evan M. Blazek; and a brother-in-law, John Gish of Mount Joy. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Verna Noll and Janet Gish.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM at East Fairview Cemetery, 1187 Fairview Road, Manheim, PA 17545.
