Obituary of Janice V. Niederreither
Janice V. "Jan" Niederreither, 82, of Manheim, PA, passed away on Monday afternoon, March 30, 2025 at United Zion Retirement Community in Lititz. Born in Detroit, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Fred L. and Evelyn G (Grant) Cook. She was the wife of Wil R. Niederreither to whom she was married for 62 years on October 5.
Jan enjoyed volunteering at the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, and at her church. In her spare time, she loved to read, walk, and to solve cross word puzzles. Most of all, Jan enjoyed visiting 49 of the 50 United States with Wil, an accomplishment completed mostly by car.
She is survived by her four children, Mike S. Niederreither, husband of Kim (Keim), of Etters, Sandra K. Toms, wife of Bryan, of Ephrata, Chris A. Gennari, of Lutherville, MD., and Kathleen E. Niederreither, of Millersville; seven grandchildren, Marisa, Bret, Ryan, Chase, Samantha, Brynna, and Seth; and two great grandchildren, Braxton and Oaklee. Jan was preceded in death by a brother, Larry G. Cook.
A private graveside service will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. There will be no public viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jan’s memory to United Zion Retirement Community Benevolent Care, 722 Furnace Hills Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
