Obituary of Albert D. Beal

Albert D. Beal, 92, of Friedens, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday morning, April 13, 2026, with his family at his side.  Born in Berlin, PA, he was the son of the late Albert Daniel and Margaret Elizabeth Shockey Beal. He was the husband of the late Mary Phyllis (Baer) Beal for 73 years prior to her passing on February 6, 2026.

Albert was an active member of Geiger Church of the Brethren. Prior to retiring, he was employed by Gilbert Brothers and Service Oil as a truck driver delivering home heating oil. He enjoyed fishing and traveling, especially trips he took to Alaska and Canada.

He is survived by five children, David Beal and wife Linda, of Scottdale, PA, Donald Beal and wife Janice, of Friedens, PA, Douglas Beal and wife Amy, of Flanders, NJ, George Beal and wife Jaynie, of Listie, PA, and Mary Beth Gillespie and husband David, of Ridgeley, WV; 11 grandchildren, Stephanie Miller, David Beal, Jr., Brianna Jano, Lacey Mostoller, Emily Dawkins, Laura Rowland, Cory Bisick, Justin Gillespie, Nathan Gillespie, Dan Cooper, and Elaine Kniss; 14 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Betty Smith.

A funeral service will be held on Friday morning, April 17, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Geiger Church of the Brethren, 185 Culligan Road, Friedens, PA 15541. The family will receive guests during a public viewing at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Private interment will be in Somerset Memorial Park.
