Obituary of Edwin F. Motter

Edwin F. Motter, 68, of Lititz, PA, formerly of Stevens, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Moravian Manor. Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Edwin G. and Mabel B. (Holwig) Motter. He was the beloved husband of Dawn L. (Carpenter) Motter for 46 years until her passing in 2022.

Edwin was a 1975 graduate of Warwick High School and was a truck driver for Redner’s Warehouse Markets for 32 years. He was a member of Mohler Church of the Brethren and served others by volunteering his time with Habitat for Humanity, Mennonite Central Committee, and Brethren Disaster Ministries. Edwin was a Cub Scout leader and enjoyed helping with his sons’ scouting adventures. He also trained many parents to become leaders in scouting. In addition, Edwin volunteered with the Stevens Fire Company for 32 years.

Edwin is survived by his three sons, Jason E. Motter, of Birdsboro, Justin E. Motter, of Jacobus, Jeremey S. Motter, of Reading; eight grandchildren, Ethan D. Motter, Tristan J. Motter, Abbie M. Motter, Jack Rathman, Karin A. Rathman, Nathan E. Motter, Josephine A. Motter, and Arabella L. Motter; two great grandchildren, Layla Motter and Astreya Motter; and five siblings, Cathy Raschke, of York, Jane Knauer, of Lancaster, Gary, husband of Julia Motter, of Elizabethtown, Karen Gerber, of Ephrata, and Allan, husband of Patricia Motter, of Yardley.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Mohler Church of the Brethren, 21 East Mohler Church Road, Ephrata, PA, with Pastor Carl Brubaker officiating. There will be no viewing. The family will receive guests at the church on Thursday, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
