Obituary of Edmund Meiskey

Edmund “Ed” Meiskey, 81, of Lititz, PA, formerly of Brunnerville, was welcomed into the arms of his Savior on Sunday afternoon, March 17, 2024, at Luther Acres after a brief but valiant battle with cancer. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Paul F. and Marcella G. Engle Meiskey.

He was a devoted member of Lititz Grace Church and the Seekers Sunday school class. He will be remembered for his steadfast faith and devotion. Although Ed possessed a gentle spirit, he demonstrated a courageous witness to Jesus Christ.

Ed retired from Wilbur Chocolate Factory where he was employed for 30 years. He also worked for the former Lancaster Press for 11 years. In addition to working, he kept himself busy by fishing, watching the Eagles and Penn State football and the Phillies, playing golf, and bowling. He also enjoyed reading, Bible study, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Louise (Stoltzfus) Meiskey of Lititz; a daughter, Karla Grothe of McSherrystown; a grandson, Hunter Grothe of McSherrystown; and two siblings, Marcia, wife of Lee Klopp, of Lititz, and Neil, husband of Julie Meiskey, of Lititz.

Ed’s family extends thanks to the caring staff at Luther Acres for their kindness and support.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Lititz Grace Church, 501 West Lincoln Avenue, Lititz, PA 17543. The family will receive guests during a public viewing at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be in Brunnerville United Methodist Cemetery immediately following a luncheon at the church. The family requests that flowers please be omitted. If desired, contributions may be made to Lititz Grace Church to be used for the children’s ministry or to the benevolent fund of Luther Acres, 600 East Main Street, Lititz, PA 17543.
