Obituary of Cindy L. Ream

Cindy L. Ream, 61, of Lebanon, PA, formerly of Manheim, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Hershey Medical Center.  She had been spending time at the cabin she loved in Perry County prior to her passing.  Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Geraldine T. Henny Gibble of Manheim and the late Glenn S. Gibble.  She was the wife, soul mate and best friend of Randall R. Ream.  They would have celebrated the 43rd anniversary of their marriage on June 11.

Whatever Cindy set out to accomplish, she approached each circumstance with a determination to do the very best she could do.  This was evident in the many friends she made while working as a waitress at Schwalm’s Restaurant in Cleona or caring for patients during her nearly 25 year career at Hershey Medical Center as a critical care registered nurse.  She retired in November 2020.  She received her nurse’s training at the former St. Joseph School of Nursing in Lancaster.  Cindy was a well-respected professional and mentor to many.

Cindy’s commitment to deep spiritual values greatly shaped her into the person she was.  She aspired to live her life by the Golden Rule, was strong, pragmatic, kind, compassionate, and lived life to its fullest.  She loved animals and nature.  She had a particular passion for creating and maintaining the gardens in their lawn, often sharing plants and flowers with others.  She was also an excellent cook and enjoyed crafting and crocheting.  Cindy also loved to travel to and visit microbreweries with Randy.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two children, Shelbie Ann, wife of Jeremy Dearolf, of Bainbridge, and Ryan Kenneth, husband of Ashley Centini Ream, of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Harper Tillie Dearolf and Jack Nash Dearolf; and her mother-in-law, Janice L. Ream of Lebanon.  She is also preceded in death by her father-in-law, Kenneth H. Ream.

A drop-in will be hosted by their family on Friday, May 28, 2021 beginning at 4:00 PM at their home.  If desired, contributions may be made in her memory to any chapter of the Humane Society.  To express a condolence with the family or for additional information, visit www.spencefuneralservices.com.
