At Spence Funeral Services, we help families through the process of saying farewell by creating meaningful celebration gatherings that honor the love and life of those who have passed. We help families share special and unique remembrances by providing caring guidance and supporting individual wishes.

Our mission has always been to provide excellent service to families while keeping costs affordable. As a long-standing member of the local community, we are a resource for individuals and families for funeral and memorial services in Manheim, Lititz, Elizabethtown and the surrounding Lancaster County areas.

We understand that it is not always possible to attend a visitation or service. We’ll create beautiful online memory pages to reach out to those who want to express their love and support. Family and friends may share a condolence or memory, post a photo, watch a webcast of the service, and more.

Please feel free to browse our pages to learn more about preplanning, grief support, traditional funeral and cremation services that we offer. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.

Funeral Livestreaming

Livestreaming is available to give those who cannot attend the opportunity to watch the service as it occurs. Funeral livestreams are also archived for future viewing. We can also produce a DVD of the service as a permanent keepsake.

Congratulations to Katelynn Schooley for receiving the William and Brenda Spence Scholarship during the recent  2023 commencement of graduating students at Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.  The scholarship is awarded to a first-generation student that is a resident of Pennsylvania and demonstrates academic excellence.  We wish Katelynn success as she begins her career as a licensed funeral director.

Bible2School Receives Donation from Matthews Children’s Foundation

Matthews Children’s Foundation recently presented Manheim, PA-based Bible2School a check for $1,000. Bible2School, a nondenominational faith-based non-profit organization, provides free elective Bible classes to elementary school children attending public school during the school day and equips people in other communities to do the same.

Matthews Children’s Foundation of Pittsburgh, PA is a nonprofit organization associated with Matthews Aurora Funeral Solutions, leaders in manufacturing and distributing caskets, urns, and other funeral related products. The foundation exclusively supports children’s charities across the U.S. by awarding grants three times a year. Since its inception in 1992, the foundation has granted nearly $5 million to community-based, nonprofit children’s organizations nationwide. All recipients must be recommended by a Matthews Aurora funeral home partner. William P. Spence Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. of Manheim was proud to sponsor and recommend Bible2School to Matthews Children’s Foundation.

“I’m delighted with the board’s choice of Bible2School to receive our most recent donation,” said Derek Miller, Business Development Director for Matthews Aurora Funeral Solutions. “It was very rewarding to hear from Kori and Megan firsthand that our funds will help them update their curriculum this year.” Kori Pennypacker is the CEO and Megan Risser is the Donor Engagement Officer of Bible2School.

Parting Stones

A Clean Alternative to Cremated Remains

Solidified remains are a complete alternative to cremated remains that allow you to live comfortably with your departed. The solidification process compresses conventional cremated remains into a beautiful collection of 40-60 “stones” that you can hold, share, scatter, and travel with.

The appearance of each collection of solidified remains is 100% natural. People can result in different hues and textures making each set unique. Parting Stone empowers families in their grief by providing a form of remains that can be touched and held.

At-need Arrangements At the time of your arrangement, you may choose to have your loved one returned either as cremated remains or solidified remains.

Pre-need Arrangements If you would like to update your pre-need plan to include solidified remains, please contact us by email or phone and we will update your arrangement.

Solidification of remains at-home If you currently have the cremated remains of your loved one at home and want to have them solidified, you may place your order here.
