Hey Whip, how long has it been since you heard that name? I was shocked when I saw your obituary. It brought me back to my Freshman year in 1957 at W.C.S.C. Your were a Junior and somehow we forged a fun friendship through the next two years until you graduated. I believe you, Fish, Kay and I spent more time playing cards & ping-pong than with the books! Our antics kept Old Main alive. Thanks for the memories, my friend. Rest in peace - until we meet again. My condolences to Janet.

I was sad to read in the paper that Miss Manly passed away. I graduated from Hempfield in 1968. Miss Manly was my gym teacher and hockey coach. I had the privilege of serving as her secretary since I was taking the Secretarial Course. She was always very kind to everyone. Probably not too happy with us when we lost a game! Miss Earhart, I had you for shorthand but I never got too great at it. I did not know that the two of you lived in Elizabethtown. I've lived down the road in Maytown for 49 yrs. Miss Earhart, I'll be thinking of you and hope life goes well for you going forward.
Sincerely, Pat Jacobs Kirchner

Joan Manly left a lasting imprint on me. I was so very fortunate to have had her as my coach for four years in both field hockey and tennis. She taught me to play fair, fight hard and persevere in order to achieve your goals- and to have fun while accomplishing them. I will always remember her with respect and gratitude. My sincere condolences, Debbie Brandt

My condolences to Miss Earhart, family, and friends with the passing of Miss Manly. She was my field hockey coach at Hempfield from 1966-1970. I remember her sense of humor, fairness, and working to get the best out of her athletes. I will always have fond memories of my time spent with Coach Manly.

I am so very sorry for your loss. She was my gym teacher at hempfield and I remember her fondly many times over the years I wondered where she got to. Would have enjoyed seeing her. My prayers go out to you. Karen Frey.
