We were deeply saddened to learn of Dick's death. We have fond memories of visiting with him at lunch after worship services and in the neighborhood when we shared observations about its continuing development. I was shocked to hear about Dick's passing. We had so much fun working together at Commerce Protective and meeting for lunch for many years agter he retired. I am saddened that I have not seen him since the pandemic and will miss him terribly. My heart is with all of you. Cheryl Ammon

Dear Linda, Meredith and Adrienne - My heart grieves with yours as you think about Dick's passing. But I feel privileged to have known Dick as a friend. I will miss his smile, his humor, his gentle demeanor, his wisdom and counsel. Yes, he was quiet and unassuming, but his life was also a wonderful example of love in action. He cared so much for his family, his church and his community, especially the least of those among us. I am in awe of what he has done for others and am so grateful for his life - truly a gift to all of us.

It was a joy to work with Dick these many years. He offered his calm, reassuring presence along with competence, expertise, and humor. I've been around Dick since I was a kid attending church at the E-town Church of the Brethren. As an adult, I realized what a gift he was to the community and to his family. His grace, kindness and wisdom will always be remembered by us at Samara. We will miss him. Such a gift. Pam and Joe Haddad

I worked with Dick for several years at Commerce Protective Insurance Company. He was always joy to work with and always smiling. I had to chuckle when I read his obituary and it stated about him having a sense of humor. He sure did! He was for the most part quiet, but then all of a sudden he’d have some quick wit comment and he’d get this smirk on his face. I also worked at Elizabethtown Child Care Center before Commerce Protective so the center holds a special place in my heart and his love and devotion to the center always meant a lot to me. Prayers to his wife, children, and grandchildren. He’s definitely gone too soon, but he lived a good life always giving to our community, his family, friends, and co-workers. He will definitely be missed.

Dick was such a light to everyone he touched in life. We feel so fortunate to have known him, and to have shared both sentimental and fun memories!
