Obituary of James Nelson Rhinier
With great sorrow we announce that James Nelson Rhinier, beloved husband of Carolyn Crissey, and loving father of Bryan and Shaun Rhinier, succumbed to his battle with addiction at home in Lititz on February 3, 2022. Born September 26, 1966, he was a son of the late Jo Ann (Nelson) and Howard Roy “Chub” Rhinier. In addition to his wife and two sons, he is survived by one brother and two sisters, nieces, and nephews.
Jim was a graduate of Manheim Township High School. He worked for several different companies including Kemp Foods, American Colloid, Spring Glen Foods, Dietz and Watson, Charles A. Erisman Asphalt Paving, and most recently for Affordable Paving and Excavating.
Jim at his best was a hard worker and looked out for others. He was gifted in fixing, building, and creating things. He preferred to be outdoors driving, exploring wildlife, fishing and star gazing. He enjoyed using his talent for drawing to connect with others when he was unable to be with them. He shared his interests such as trains, WWII history, and raising guinea pigs with his sons. Also, with his family he gardened, camped, built fires for s'mores, played in the snow and played video games. He tried to keep a positive outlook and had a sense of humor.
A memorial service will be held at Landis Valley Christian Fellowship Church, 2420 Kissel Hill Road, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
