Obituary of Harold E. Gish

Harold E. Gish, 83, of Lebanon, PA, formerly of Palmyra, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday February 14, 2022, at his home. Born in Palmyra, he was the son of the late David F. and Leah M. Kreider Gish.  He was the husband of Mary E. Weit Gish for 38 years on June 17.

Harold was a 1956 graduate of Hershey High School and attended South Lebanon Community Church.  He was employed for more than 16 years as a truck driver by the former Borg-Warner Corp.  He later enjoyed his employment with Advance Coach Company in Lititz where he was a tour bus driver for ten years.

He was a member of Gideons International Lebanon West Camp where he served as chaplain, card chairman, and in various other roles. In addition to traveling and listening to Southern Gospel Music, Harold enjoyed taking mission trips for the purpose of building homes for the less fortunate.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six daughters, Debra J., wife of Denny Maddas, of Huntingdon, Kathy L. Fies of Campbelltown, Debra M., wife of Darcy Martin, of Niles, MI, Sharon L., wife of William  Wegman, of Hershey, Crystal A., wife of Kirby Prekert, of Niles, MI, and Tammy S., wife of John Wreford, of Niles, MI, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and four sisters, Dr, Dorothy J. Gish of Mechanicsburg, Mary R. Morrissey of Cornwall, and Karen E., wife of Kenneth I. Sellers, of Lebanon. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Kristi Leanne Gish, and a brother, David M. Gish, Sr., and one sister, Irene M. Bingeman.

A funeral service will be held on Friday February 25, 2022, at 11AM at South Lebanon Community Church, 13 Evergreen Road, Lebanon. Interment will be private. The family will receive guests at a viewing at the church on Friday from 10AM until the time of the service. All are invited to attend a luncheon at the church immediately following the service.
