Obituary of Paul H. Boll
Paul H. Boll, 88, of Palmyra, PA, passed unexpectedly and peacefully at his home on Friday evening, April 29, 2022. Born in Clay Twp., Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Norman and Naomi Burkholder Boll. He was the husband of Carol A. Kaufman Boll for 66 years on December 31.
During the Korean War, Paul served in the United States Marine Corps as a corporal. He finished his secondary education at Messiah Academy and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management from Bridgewater College. He also attended Bethany Theological Seminary in preparation for pastoral ministry. Paul served the Shippensburg Church of the Brethren and Quakertown COB, both in Pennsylvania, in addition to Brethren congregations in West Virginia, Virginia, and Maryland.
He was employed as assistant administrator by Peter Becker Community in Harleysville prior to accepting the position of administrator at Lebanon Valley Brethren Home in Palmyra (now Londonderry Village) in 1979. After he retired in 1997, he continued to provide ministry as a chaplain at Good Samaritan Hospital, Londonderry Village, and at AdventHealth in Sebring, FL where they wintered for many years. In 2011 he was recognized by the Church of the Brethren for 50 years of ordination. Paul easily engaged others with his outgoing personality and enjoyed the sport of golf.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, P. Nevin Boll of North Beach, MD; and five siblings, Verna, wife of Sam Brubaker, of Manheim, John, husband of Anna Lois Boll, of New York, Mark, husband of Roseanna Boll, of Lititz, Martha, wife of Dr. Marlin Nissley, of Lititz, and Ray Boll of Ephrata. He was also preceded in death by two siblings, Warren Boll and Reba Sensenig.
A memorial service will be held on Friday morning, May 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Palmyra Church of the Brethren, 45 North Chestnut Street, Palmyra, PA. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at the church on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
