Obituary of Norman G. Moyer

Norman G. Moyer, 94, of Manheim, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday morning, August 22, 2022, at Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community. Born in Franconia Township, Montgomery County, he was the son of the late Harry and Sally (Godshall) Moyer. He was the husband to the late Edith (Meyers) Moyer.

Through the years, Norman was a farmer, truck driver, owned his own business of operating a Huckster Route delivering butter and eggs door to door and working at American Olean tile in Lansdale, PA. He loved spending time with his family, driving to Lancaster looking at the farmland, fields and seeing which farms had the biggest and most silos. He loved speaking Pennsylvania Dutch to anyone who would also speak Dutch and loved going to Yoder’s Restaurant and going for ice cream.

Norman is survived by his two loving children, Marilyn Gerhart (Phil), of Manheim and Gerald Moyer (Sherry), of Hatfield; three grandchildren, Brian Gerhart (Beth), Michael Gerhart (Karen), and Blaine Moyer (Nicole); and nine great grandchildren, Nathan, Lauren, Hannah, Emily, Sarah, Tyler, Liam, Cooper and Annalee. He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Brandon Moyer and his seven siblings, Richard Moyer, Edith Souder, Esther Bechtel, Ella Detweiler, Mary Moyer, Ada Delp, and Harold Moyer.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, August 27, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Immanuel Leidy’s Church, 273 W. Cherry Lane, Souderton, PA 18964. There will be no public viewing.
