Obituary of Miriam A. "Mim" Zimmerman

Miriam A. (Hartzler) Zimmerman went to her eternal home with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Friday, November 25, 2022, at the age 56 after a 3-year journey with cancer.

Born in Bainbridge, PA, on December 11, 1965, the daughter of the late Eugene and Lois Hartzler. Mim was the loving wife of J. Earl Zimmerman of Elizabethtown, PA, with whom she spent 37 years of marriage.

Mim enjoyed reading, working in her flower beds, spending time with her friends, and serving people wherever she was needed. Most of all, Mim loved her family. She poured her life into building a happy, healthy, Christ-centered home, setting the example to all who crossed paths with her, what the hands and feet of Jesus look like.

She is survived by her 4 children, Edward Zimmerman (husband to Rebecca,) Jordan Zimmerman, Laura Fisher (wife to Quinton and mother of Aria,) Megan King (wife to Jadon.). Mim is also survived by her siblings, Joyce Stauffer (wife to Larry,) Linda Halteman (wife to Ray,) Sharon Medors (wife to Ed,) Daniel Hartzler (husband to Judi,) Sarah Hartzler (wife of the late Stan Hartzler,) and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Mim loved being an active member at Life Mennonite Fellowship, of Willow Street, PA where she served on multiple committees, as well as taught Sunday school.

Throughout her journey with cancer Mim echoed her cry that it was all worth it if people would get to know Christ through her journey. Her faith was strong, and unwavering even through deep waters, and the valley of the shadow of death. Her life has impacted many, and she will not be forgotten.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday morning, December 1, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Chiques Church, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, PA 17545. The family will receive guests during a public viewing at the church on Wednesday, November 30, 2022, from 2-4 PM and again from 6-8 PM. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service on Thursday in Chiques Cemetery. The family asks that those who would like to make a contribution in Mims honor to kindly consider writing a check to Arm of Hope, 1708 Ridge Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 or give online at armofhopeinghana.org.
