Peggy and Carol and others,
I have many good memories of Aunt Jane from over the years. I will always remember her smile and her kindness. She was ready to listen and I felt the warmness she gave. We had fun times together and she put up with our noise and showed her patience.
A lovely, wonderful person.
Peace and comfort as you go through this time.

Peggy and Carol,
My parents wanted me to give you their deepest sympathy on the passing of your mother. My mom said Jane was her best friend at Lititz Mennonite. They said your parents were the best parents the MYF could have. They went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome and opened their home many times. They also said they were always treated to ice cream whenever they visited their home. You are in their thoughts and prayers.

Please accept my deepest sympathy to the lovely and loving family of Aunt Jane. She was a wonderful role model for all of us. With a contagious smile, her warm caring kindness was always available. I have many fond memories of catching chickens, very early in the morning. Also assisting with tobacco harvest was fun, wish I had all that energy now. As a young kid and older kid, Uncle John and Aunt Jane were people I admired because of their great generosity. As a young, and maybe foolish person, I purchased a big truck load of some kind of camouflage paint from the U.S. government. Uncle John and my brother Norman traveled in my truck to pick up the many paint cans. After having it in my barn at the farm, I had no idea what to do with it. A few years later, uncle John took the paint for the roof on his big chicken house. By the grace of God, the paint sealed the roof.
When I remember Aunt Jane, she was the most dedicated wife I know. When speaking about John or Jane, they were the perfect team for each other.
I am sorry that I will not be able to be with you for the “Celebration of Life Service”. I have a very compromised immune system from CLL and at present I have the end of a bad cold. God bless all of you and since God allowed Aunt Jane to live over 99 years means she was a very special person!!

Peggy & Carol,
When I saw the picture of your mother, many memories came flooding back. Smith reunions when we saw all of you once a year. She looks as lovely as I remember her. My condolences to you. May God comfort you and give you much joy in your memories. Mom spoke often of her Ober cousins.

The pictures of the 4 are the siblings all together in 2016 and 2018. The others are her children, grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.
She always was in charge of the Chicken BBQ, Ober reunion and took orders.
She also had many celebrations over the years.
Esther Ober considered her a dear friend. Their faces would light up when they saw each other. They would share stories about growing up. They all knew each other from their youth.
Hearing those stories are such a treasure.
Love,
Shawn & Tina

I have many memories of your mother…chicken bbq’s at the farm, all night rook parties at your dining room table, making peanut clusters in your garage, etc. She was a wonderful lady. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time.
