Obituary of Sharla Rutter
Sharla “Mazie” “Shorty” Rutter, 68, of Manheim, PA., passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Penn State Hershey Medical Center surrounded by her loving son, Jay Rutter, his wife Laura and her niece Kayla Eckman, and dear friend, Sandy Nolt. She was the daughter of the late Josephine M. (Burns) and Ray W. Haug. She was the loving wife of the late Martin “Marty” J. Rutter who passed away in 2014.
Mazie’s family is comforted in knowing that she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior and is now healed and rejoicing in Heaven.
In her final years, Mazie was able to travel to Washington State to visit her dear friends, Pork and Nancy. She was also able to travel to Disney with her son and her brother, Scott, and his wife, Robin. She loved to shop at the Dollar Store, as well as coming home with receipts from K-Mart and Walmart. She enjoyed creating crafts as gifts for her family. She is missed dearly by her sweet little dog, Abby.
In addition to her son, Jay, she is survived by her brother Scott Haug, husband of Robin; four sisters-in-law, Donna, Lois, Vickie, and Anna Haug; one brother-in-law, Tom Sensenig; and numerous nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Sandy and Dale Nolt, Dan Edwards, and Willy and Ellen Rittle. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her four brothers, Ray Haug Jr., Frankie Haug, Randy Haug, and Danny Haug; two sisters, Sandy Albert and Tammy Stiffler.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Mazie will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Faith United Methodist Chuch, 1290 Fruitville Pike, Littiz, PA 17543. Guests are to use the entrance to the parking lot on Koser Road. A time of vistation for family and friends will be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. All are invited to attend a small luncheon and time of fellowship immediately following the service. Interment will be private in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster.
