Obituary of Reba E. Enck
Reba E. Enck, 91, of Ephrata, PA, formerly of Lititz, entered the presence of God on Monday evening, October 23, 2023, at Wellspan Ephrata Community Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Paradise, she was the daughter of the late Wilmer W. and Anna N. Landis Kreider. She was the wife of Carl R. Enck for 53 years prior to his passing in 2005.
After Reba graduated from Manheim High School in 1950, she was employed in the office of the former Raybestos in Manheim. As a married couple, she and Carl raised poultry and produce and sold their products to both supermarkets and at farmers’ markets.
In her later years, she was an active member of Village Chapel in New Holland. In addition to discovering within herself an ability to draw pictures, she was an avid reader, especially the Bible and devotional writings. Reba loved her family and prayed for them regularly. She will be remembered for having a positive attitude and forgiving spirit, as well as thinking of the needs of others.
The family expresses appreciation for the companionship she found in Margaret Fry and the care given to Reba by Margaret’s daughters, Edna Weaver and Joyce Fry.
Reba is survived by four children, Charles R., husband of Vicky L. Morgan Enck, of Lititz, Teresa E. “Terri”, wife of Linford W. Good, of Shamokin Dam, Elaine A., wife of Tony J. Mathias, of Lititz, and Carol L., wife of John P. Roach, Jr., of Manheim; 15 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and a brother, Stanley, husband of Linda Kreider, of Manheim. She was also preceded in death by a son, Irvin C. Enck; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Stauffer Enck; and four siblings, Kathleen Geil, Landis Kreider, Wilmer Kreider, and Anna Marie “Judy” Weoski.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, October 28, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Village Chapel, 335 Wissler Road, New Holland, PA 17557. There is no public viewing. The family will receive guests on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. All are invited to a luncheon at the church immediately following the service. Interment will be at 2:00 PM at Witness Park in Lititz. If desired, contributions may be made to Village Chapel. To express a condolence with the family, visit www.spencefuneralservices.com.
