Obituary of Joanne M. Nolt
Joanne M. Nolt, 79, of Manheim, PA, passed away on Monday morning, December 18, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late J. Samuel and Verna M. (Schwenk) Sherer. She was the loving wife of Gerald R. Nolt for 59 years.
Joanne was a 1962 graduate of Donegal High School and later graduated from the Lancaster School of Practical Nursing. She was a member of Lititz Church of the Brethren, where she was also employed as the administrative assistant for a period of time. Joanne worked as an LPN for 20 years. She owned and operated Joanne’s Kountry Kupboard and Joanne’s Kountry Kitchen for 10 years and then spent her time as a fashion consultant for 10 years. She then found herself working for the Bird-In-Hand Corporation, where she was employed as an Amish Country Tour Guide.
Joanne fought a long and courageous battle of Ovarian Cancer for two and a half years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two children, Jodi L. Nolt, wife of Tony Neidigh, of Carlisle, and Jeffrey L. Nolt, husband of Amy, of Manheim; five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
A service celebrating the life of Joanne will be held on Wednesday morning, December 27, 2023, at 11:30 AM at Lititz Church of the Brethren, 300 W. Orange St., Lititz, PA 17543. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. There will be a luncheon at the church immediately following the service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
