To all members of the “Gene Enck” family:
Would that I could have known every one of you personally, because for those with whom I have had the privilege of knowing (Gene Z., Kim, Bob, Kurt, and Barb), I have been fortuitously blessed. The memories I have of my affiliation with Gene (Dorsey as I always knew him) were many. The following span a period of 38 years:
• Dorsey, as a deputy county sheriff, riding that handsome black stallion in parades.
• Pennsylvania School Board Association conferences and regional workshops where Gene was, almost without exception,
a presenter or leader.
• Us hiding out in the basement of the former Trop Gun Shop location (now a Burger King on route 230) with the
management team, during a potential teacher strike in Donegal, to avert a union “pressure -cooker” tactic.
• Dorsey allowing the use of his horses (and Barb’s too) to teach my children (Dylan and Erin) to experience equestrian
pleasure.
• My kids and me, after Dorsey’s leg injury from a motorcycle mishap, mucking the Harvest Road stables and hauling the
manure to a neighbor’s farm.
• A welcoming and much appreciated “camping” spot to accommodate our visit with the Encks and Chittum boys in South
Dakota.
• Two proud grandfathers (Gene and me) sitting on lawn chairs watching grandsons Tristan Enck and Levi Sites play soccer.
I know his most recent years became more difficult to retain the quality-of-life Gene was accustomed to having. I’m sure it was an exhausting experience for those closest to him.
May God’s Peace bring condolence for you all.
Woodrow (Woody) Sites, Jr.

Kim and family, I was sorry to hear of Gene's passing. I will always remember him along with my girls. He was their "Uncle Gene" since they were very small. He "gave away" my daughter Ivy Rose at her wedding because her dad had already passed. There are so many memories we as a family hold dear. Memories of Gene and Kay and their boys and then later; Gene and Kim and her boys. The horses, rodeos and the wonderful time Kenny, myself and our girls had in SD. May he rest in peace and may God's love and care, comfort, and surround his family and friends. May you find comfort in the many wonderful memories.
