Obituary of Tamma I. Snyder

Tamma I. Snyder, 65, of Mt. Joy Township, passed away at Penn State Lancaster Medical Center on Monday, January 20, 2025, due to a heart attack. Born in Elizabethtown, she was the daughter of the late Frank S. and Della E. Keller Snyder.

 

She was a graduate of the 1977 class at Elizabethtown High School. Afterward, she was hired for her first job as a clerk at the New Cumberland Army Depot until 1979. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from York College of Pennsylvania in 1983. The first half of her career as a registered nurse, she provided direct care, then transitioned into insurance and utilization review. She was a charge nurse at the Lebanon VA from 1992-1999. She was re-hired at the Lebanon VA in 2016 as a Utilization Review Nurse for NECPAC and was an active employee until her passing.

 

Tamma attended Cedar Hill Community Church in Elizabethtown and was a former member of Goods Mennonite Church in Elizabethtown.

 

Tamma devoted her life to her three children. She enjoyed tent camping at the local state parks, being outdoors, especially around water sources, and visiting local nurseries to tend to her gardens. Her hobbies also consisted of sewing, jigsaw puzzles, and reading.

 

She is survived by three children, Sylvia L. Brosey of Hershey, Kelly I., wife of Travis J. Stone, of Manheim and their son-to-be-born, and Lance L. Brosey of Elizabethtown; and a brother, Terry, husband of Rose Snyder, of Elizabethtown. She was also preceded in death by two siblings, Pamma Pereny and Tim Snyder.
