Obituary of Dennis "Ed" Kiser

Dennis "Ed" Kiser, 61, went to be with his Lord on October 3, 2011 unexpectedly at his home in Manheim, PA.
Born in York, PA, he spent the last 16 ½ years married to his beloved wife, Nancy.
He is also survived by a son, Ben, of York; two step-children, Jennifer Seymour of Lancaster, PA and Steve Bryner of Manheim; a sister, Jeani Kiser, of Loganville, PA, and a brother, David, of York.
Ed was the son of the late Norman and Dr. Marie Kiser of Landisville, PA. After graduating from York County Vocational Technical School in 1969, Ed served in the Navy on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CVA 42) during the Vietnam War. He belonged to the Manheim VFW.
Ed was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Mt. Joy, PA.
Ed spent much of his career as a building contractor in California, and after years of carpentry, he was employed by Aspen Dental as a denture technician. He enjoyed working with and building things with wood from homes to boats and woodcarving water fowl. Ed was an inventive tinkerer with a curious mind. He also enjoyed reading mystery novels.
Viewing and interment services will be held privately, with a Celebration of Life service to be held Saturday morning, October 29, 2011 at 11 am at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 209 South Market Street, Mount Joy, PA 17552 with a luncheon and visitation at noon in the basement of the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ed's memory may be made to the Access Fund c/o St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
