A memorie with Ray when I was young, there was a water break in the basement at Fahrney Keedy and I believe he had a T-Bird and I was with him and it was so cool running hwy 66 hauling butt up and down the hills. Another memorie was when they got the sliding camper for the pickup and Ray let me ride in it going to church. That was really cool looking out of the top window going down the road. Thinking of you Connie, Scotty and Shelly

I work for Transply and we are a supplier to EE Shenk for over 30 years. Over the last few years I spoke to Ray every week, sometimes a couple times a day when he was working on one of his projects. He was one of the nicest men I have ever met. He had some of the same qualities that my Father had and you just don't find many men like that anymore. It was my pleasure to have known him and I miss him. I remember him and all of you in my daily prayers. All my love, Richard

Dear Connie and Family, This far since your dear husbands' passing and he is missed as much as ever. Continue to receive comfort from and through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so overdue in seeing all my "Shenky" friends, but Ray especially will be sorely missed 'cause I recall how he took me under his wings so long away as a loving father! Thanks go to the family for sharing such a vital man, your father and husbvand.

I am sitting here at my computer trying to understand any of this.I feel lost for words.Ray this remarkable, loving, strong, incredible man is gone. The memories i have are priceless.I married into the family and got to know Connie and Ray so well. They where more then family to me,Connie and Ray are my Brother and sister. What a gift i was given.Ray and i had a wonderful relationship.I could talk to him about an anything. When Ray would hug me i felt the love, his hugs told it all he didn't have to say anything. The holidays cleaning up with him was a blast,we joked and made it fun.We go back to when Frank and i got married.Scott and Rachelle where little then. They where in our wedding, our flower girl and ring bearer.Priceless.They have been a close part of our live for years. They have loved all my children like there own,and my grandchildren. We have are memories and will cherish them forever.Connie we love you very much.We will always be there for you.Rest in Peace Ray you will be greatly missed.

I joined the Yellott family in 1992. Because of the distance between Georgia and Pennsylvania, I was never lucky enough to have daily or even weekly contact with Ray. However, Ray always greeted me as if he I was the one person he had been waiting to see that year. I know that he treated everyone that way, but he still managed to make me feel very special. He was perhaps half of the sweetest couple I have ever known.
I did not know much about the Shenk family business, but I was so impressed when Ray, after many years designing and building machinery, re-invented himself as a computer information specialist. He attacked that just like he did the design of a machine. What needs to be done and what is the best way to do it? And then he set out to learn everything he needed to know to best accomplish his task. And he was not a young man when he decided to do that. I thought that was pretty amazing.
He loved his children and would do anything for them and he adored his role as grandfather. His eyes would just dance when he talked about Samantha and Brady and all of their accomplishments. I know he was so proud of them.
My children were not lucky enough to still have grandfathers around when they were born, but Ray really stepped into that void for them when he visited us or when we were with him and Connie. He was immeasurably patient - he and Connie taught both of my kids to play card games and board games that he had already taught Samantha and Braden, explaining rules over and over again without any attention to time. They loved visiting Uncle Ray and Aunt Connie, and when Dan and I were wavering on making the 12 to 14 hour trip, Dixon and Delaney would insist that we had to come.
Ray had so many wonderful qualities. Most of all, he was a great teacher to me, but I don't think he ever knew that. Over the years, I watched how he treated every person around him. He was unfailingly kind and respectful to every person, adult or child. But the thing that I learned most from him was how to be a great partner. Over the years of staying with Connie and Ray (or them staying with us at our house), I was a watchful student of their relationship. Theirs was a true partnership - they planned together, they worked together, and when things were rough, they pulled together. Connie and Ray always had their oars in the water together, pulling their boat in the same direction. And they laughed so much . . . all the time. I don't know that any of us could want more.
I will miss Ray, but I am so happy that I was fortunate enough to know him. I am a better person for knowing him and for being loved by him. We all are.
