Obituary of Pearl E. Yost

Pearl E. Yost, 80, of Mount Joy, PA, formerly of Manheim, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior following a brief illness on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Columbia, PA with her husband of 59 years by her side. Born in Sunbury, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mark E. and Bertha E. Slanker Rickert. She was the wife of Mark L. Yost. Mrs. Yost was a member of Grace Chapel in Elizabethtown, PA where she was faithful in the Church Prayer Line. Prior to retiring in 1997, she was employed as a seamstress by Colebrook Terry in Colebrook, PA for 17 years. She was also employed by other area clothing manufacturers during her lifetime. Pearl enjoyed attending the Elizabethtown Senior Center, knitting and sewing. She enjoyed collecting milk glassware, which she passed on as a legacy to her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Faith E. Bryson of Mount Joy; a son, Jim M. Yost of Lancaster, PA; four grandchildren, Jennifer Bryson Butler, Justin Yost, Katie Bryson, and Brittany Yost; one great granddaughter, Bethany Butler; three siblings, Beverly Fausey of Shamokin Dam, PA, Norman Rickert of Huntington Valley, PA, and Joyce, wife of Clarence Baily, of Northumberland, PA. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 11:30 AM at Grace Chapel, 2535 Colebrook Road, Elizabethtown, PA 17022 with Pastor Melvin Weaver officiating. The family will receive guests at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Following a luncheon at the church, interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. If desired, contributions in her memory may be made to Grace Chapel Food Pantry.
