Obituary of Katrina Francissa Shenk

Katrina Francissa Shenk, 41, of Lancaster, PA, formerly of Elizabethtown, entered into peace on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at her home unexpectedly of natural causes. Born in rural Bogotá, Colombia, she was the adopted daughter of Velma F. Shenk of Elizabethtown. Katrina was a member of the Elizabethtown Area High School Class of 1991 and a member of Chiques Church of the Brethren in Manheim, PA. She was employed as a housekeeper for 14 years by Portofino's Italian Restaurant, and its successor, Stubby's Bar and Grill, in Lancaster. Her family will remember her as having a "heart of gold", a contagious laugh, enjoying Asian food, and an interest in helping others. She also was an avid sports fan, especially the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, enjoyed playing baseball at family reunions, and listening to music. In addition to her mother, she is survived by five siblings, Phanh H. Pham of Lancaster, Kathy S. Weaver of Harrisonburg, VA, Anh Morales of York, PA, Tuan A. Pham of Elizabethtown, and Tara A. Shenk of Elizabethtown; and 12 nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday afternoon, August 4, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Chiques Church of the Brethren, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, PA. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. There will be no viewing. The family will receive guests at a luncheon in the Family Life Center of the church immediately following the graveside service.
