Obituary of Nancy J. Kover

Nancy J. Kover, 77, of Mount Joy, PA, formerly of Manheim, PA, went to be with her Lord on Saturday morning, January 5, 2013 at Heart of Lancaster Regional Medical Center in Lititz, PA. Born in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Anna Mae Parkinson Herr. She would have had her 78th birthday on Monday, January 7. Nancy and her husband, Marlin G. Kover, would have been married for 60 years later this month. A homemaker, she was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manheim where she started working with children in the nursery and later taught the 2nd grade Sunday school class for many years. She also taught Vacation Bible School, sang in the adult choir, and helped to prepare and serve summer luncheons to residents of the Manheim community. In addition to taking bus trips and playing organ, she enjoyed completing jigsaw puzzles, collecting teddy bears, and doing embroidery and latch hook handwork. In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Donna L., wife of Kenneth E. Leed, of Manheim, Marlin E., husband of Mary M. Straub Kover, of Manheim, Leonard L., husband of Valarie L. White Kover, of Newmanstown, PA, Caleb K., husband of Jennie C. Diffenbach Kover, of Manheim, and Lincoln C. Kover of Manheim; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Marlin G. Kover, Jr. and a brother, John Brandt Herr. A Service of Christian Memory will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 9:30 AM at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2 South Hazel Street, Manheim, PA 17545 with Pastor James W. Roth officiating. There will be no viewing. The family will receive guests at a light reception at the church immediately following the service. Interment will follow in the Longenecker Brethren Cemetery, Lititz.
