Obituary of Luella H. Myer

Luella H. Myer, 90, of Manheim, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, February 16, 2013 at Lancaster General Hospital after becoming suddenly ill earlier in the day. Born in Lancaster County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer, Sr. and Elizabeth Eshelman Huber. Luella was a Christian and was associated with the Church of the Brethren most of her life. She was employed as a seamstress by the former Naugle's sewing factory in Manheim and Donegal Industries in Mount Joy, as well as other sewing factories in the area. More recently, she was employed by Manheim Auto Auction as a kitchen worker. Her interests included tending to houseplants, gardening, and visiting and offering encouragement to others at Pleasant View Retirement Community where she lived. Most importantly, she took a keen interest in the activities of her family. She is survived by three children, Sandra F., wife of James D. Hess, of Lebanon, PA, Sharon K., wife of John G. Miller, of Bethel, PA, and Steven R., husband of Randi L. Ruhle Myer, of Manheim; 10 grandchildren, J. Ronald Hess, S. Wendell Hess, J. Bradley Hess, Anita J. (Hess) Atkins, Jason P. Miller, Katrina J. (Miller) Dvorznak, Heidi K. Myer, S. Benjamin Myer, Rory D. Hughes, and Leah C. Hughes; 10 great grandchildren; and four siblings, Pauline Good of Lancaster, Earl, husband of Charlotte Huber, of Conestoga, PA, Elmer, Jr., husband of Ruth Huber, of Manheim, and Erma, wife of John Witmer, of Mount Joy, PA. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Galen Huber, Mark Huber, and Mildred Pickel. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Hoffer Auditorium at Pleasant View Retirement Community, 544 North Penryn Road, Manheim, PA. Interment in Middle Creek Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Lititz, PA. The family will receive guests during a public viewing at Hoffer Auditorium on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
