Obituary of Annie K. Ginder

Annie K Ginder, 94, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday afternoon, August 24, 2013, at the Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Center of Hospice & Community Care, Mount Joy, PA. For the past seventeen years she has resided at Brethren Village, Lancaster, PA. Born in Manor Township, Lancaster, Co., PA, she was the daughter of the late Ira H, and Bessie Kulp Neff. As a youth, she worked on the family farm and at the Ira Neff Produce stand at Lancaster Central Market. She shared fifty-four years of marriage with the late Homer Z. Ginder who passed away in 1995. The beautiful flowers and lawn of the Ginder farm on Sunnyburn Road, Elizabethtown, PA received much loving care from Annie. She took great pride in her vegetable garden. She was a member of the Society of Farm Women of Lancaster County. Annie is survived by three daughters; Joanne, married to Lynn Smoker, Lancaster, Marie, married to Robert Messick, and Sandy, married to Gilbert Martin, both of Elizabethtown. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Meyers of Willow Valley. She was preceded in death by four sisters; Bertha Reapsome, Martha Bollinger, Miriam Falk, and Esther Neff. Annie was an active member of Chiques Church of the Brethren in Manheim, PA. She sang in a trio, helped with Sunday school and church activities. A cheerful, energetic person, she loved singing hymns and playing the piano at Brethren Village where she also volunteered. A private burial will take place at Chiques Cemetery on Wednesday morning, August 28. The family will greet friends at 10 AM at Chiques Church of the Brethren, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim. The funeral will follow at 11 AM, with her Pastor Ron Strickler and Chaplain Mark Tedford of Brethren Village officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Brethren Village Benevolent Fund, 3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17606.
