Obituary of Marlin G. Kover

Marlin G. Kover, 79, of Mount Joy, PA, formerly of Manheim, PA, went to be with his Lord on Saturday morning, January 18, 2014, at Juniper Village in Mount Joy, PA. Born in Manheim, he was the son of the late Rufus W. and Barbara H. (Heisey) Kover. Marlin was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy J. (Herr) Kover, who died in 2013, after 59 years of marriage. Marlin was employed by Select Sires as an artificial breeder. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manheim. He enjoyed collecting old milk bottles and coins. In addition to visits from family, he enjoyed following the Hershey Bears hockey team. He is survived by five children, Donna L., wife of Kenneth E. Leed, of Manheim, Marlin E., husband of Mary M. Straub Kover, of Manheim, Leonard L., husband of Valarie L. White Kover, of Newmanstown, PA, Caleb K., husband of Jennie C. Diffenbach Kover, of Manheim, and Lincoln C. Kover of Manheim; 15 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and four siblings, Thelma, wife of Frank Becker, Anetta, wife of John King, and Linda, wife of Larry Rohrer, all of Manheim, and Virgil, husband of Floy Kover, of Lancaster, PA. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Marlin G. Kover, Jr. A Service of Christian Memory will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at 10:00 AM at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2 South Hazel Street, Manheim, with Pastor James W. Roth officiating. There will be no viewing. The family will receive guests at a light reception at the church immediately following the service. Interment will follow in the Longenecker Brethren Cemetery, Lititz. If desired, contributions may be made in his memory to AseraCare Hospice, 315 Primrose Lane, Suite 101, Mountville, PA 17554.
