Obituary of Stanley H. White

Stanley H. White, 94, of Lititz, formerly of Manheim, was called home to heaven on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Landis Homes following a period of declining health. Born in Penn Twp., Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Titus M. and Minnie Heisey White. He was the husband of Myrtle Stauffer White for 72 years on January 1. Mr. White was a member of White Oak Church of the Brethren in Manheim. He was a farmer in Penn Twp. prior to retiring and moving from the farm. He was also employed for many years by the Manheim Auto Auction and as a school bus driver in his younger years. He enjoyed hunting deer each season. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Marcella M., wife of J. Marlin Myer, of Manheim, Lois I., wife of Dale E. Wolgemuth, of Manheim, and Brenda J., wife of Glenn R. Garber, of East Petersburg; a son, David E., husband of Sally J. Shenk White, of Manheim; 11 grandchildren, Deanne Myer Gingrich, Pamela Myer Crawn, Sonia Myer Urban, Justin Wolgemuth, Lance Wolgemuth, Zachary Wolgemuth, Michele Garber, Richard Garber, Travis White, Abby White Beck, and Evan White; and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Paul White, Charles White, Esther Shenenberger, and Naomi Gingrich. Services are private. Interment will be in the White Oak Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive guests at a drop-in reception on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 5-6:30 PM at the Welcome Center at Manheim Brethren in Christ Church, 54 North Penryn Road, Manheim.
