Obituary of Larry J. Bova

Larry J. Bova, 95, of Lancaster, PA, formerly of Perkasie, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Bob Fryer and Family Inpatient Center of Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy following a brief illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Joseph and Rose Bova. He was the husband of Marisa Jacoby Bova. His first wife, Christine Notarmuzzi Bova, died in 2002. During World War II, Mr. Bova fought to protect the ideals and freedom of his country by serving as a first lieutenant in the United States Army. His duty station was in Great Britain as an intelligence officer. Larry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education from New York University. During his career, he was a real estate developer throughout the boroughs of New York City. He was very health conscience and keep himself physically fit by regular exercise, running, healthy diet and healthy living, Larry enjoyed dancing, traveling, and loved life. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dorothea, wife of James Spinelli, of Warrington, and Israel, wife of Moshe Aziza, of Ephrata; five grandchildren, James Spinelli, Christine Spinelli, Bethel Lewis, John Aziza, and Josh Aziza; five great grandchildren; and three sisters, Phyllis Lepera, Stella Bombino, and Vera Demofetto. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Richard's Catholic Church, 110 North Oak Street, Manheim, PA, with Rev. Stephen D. Weitzel as celebrant. Commendation and Final Farewell will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, with military honors. Family and friends may attend a wake at Spence Funeral Services, 40 North Charlotte Street, Manheim on Wednesday evening from 6-9 pm. There will also be a viewing at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
