Please share a memory of Alta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Alta Mae Geib, 81, of Manheim, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, November 15, 2014 at Oak Leaf Manor North in Landisville surrounded by her loving husband and family. Born in Penn Twp., Lancaster County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clarence D. and Margie Heisey Kulp. She and her husband, Clarence B. Geib, were married for 61 years on Friday. A homemaker, Alta was an active member of Chiques Church of the Brethren in Manheim where she participated in the Neighbors Sharing and Caring women's ministry. She also helped others with their housekeeping. She enjoyed quilting and made a quilt for each of her children and grandchildren over the years. Her joy of being around people was evident by her ready smile and the ministry of visitation she and her husband shared with others. She was also faithful in sending cards to those needing encouragement. Alta was also a longtime volunteer at Brethren Village. She especially enjoyed attending the various activities of her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Rose M., wife of Kevin B. Hickernell, Earl E., husband of Sandra Erb Geib, and Barry L., husband of Dawn Moyer Geib, all of Manheim, seven grandchildren; and two siblings, Robert, husband of Ruth Kulp, and Velma, wife of Roy Ebersole, each of Manheim. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley D. Geib, and two great grandchildren, Alex and Taylor Brown. The family wishes to thank the staff of Oak Leaf Manor North and Grane Hospice for their kindness expressed in the care given to their family. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Chiques Church of the Brethren, 4045 Sunnyside Road, Manheim, PA 17545 with ministers Michael S. Hess, Randy Hosler, and Ron Strickler officiating. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive guests at the church on Friday evening from 6-8:00 PM and on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
