Obituary of Grace P. Fry

Grace P. Lehman Fry, 84, of Lititz, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday afternoon, February 20, 2015 at Heart of Lancaster following a brief illness. Born in Manheim, PA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel P. and Amelia Strickler Pierce Lehman. She was the wife of the late Fred D. Fry who died in 2000. A faithful follower of Jesus Christ, Mrs. Fry was a member of Mount Hope Mennonite Church in Manheim. She had a passion for the poor and those in need and assisted them by sharing her talent for sewing and piecing quilt tops. Her family will remember her as an extremely hard worker. She was an avid gardener her entire life and preserved much of what she grew for her family's enjoyment. She was also an excellent cook and baker. Above all, she was a devoted mother to her seven children, Larry E., husband of Shirley Sellers Charles, of Cochranton, LeRoy E., husband of Carol Huffman Horst, of Lititz, Lloyd E., husband of Dolly Kline Horst, of McClure, John L., husband of Darlene Shenk Fry, of Lancaster, Jeffrey L., husband of Stacy Erb Fry, of Lititz, Londa E. Horst Danner and Cynthia M. Fry Kauffman, both of Lancaster; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by five siblings, Samuel S. Lehman of Manheim, Mary P., wife of Henry Nolt, of Lititz, Martha P., wife of Martin Zimmerman, of Ephrata, LaVerna P., wife of Robert M. Hill, of Manheim, and Lorraine P. Martin of Manheim. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Paul P. Lehman, Esther P. Ginder, and David P. Lehman. The family wishes to thank the staff at Landis Homes for their dedicated and compassionate care provided to Grace during her time there. Appreciation is also extended to Heart of Lancaster for their kindness toward Grace and her family. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Mount Hope Mennonite Church, 1969 Mastersonville Road, Manheim, PA with ministers Jared Weaver and Delmar Shelly officiating. Following a luncheon, interment will be in Millport Union Cemetery, Lititz. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday evening from 6-8:00 PM and on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Kindly omit flowers.
