Obituary of Mary Z. Brubaker

Mary Z. Brubaker, 92, formerly of Manheim, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday morning, September 9, 2015 at Landis Homes where she has made her home since 2012. Born in Rapho, Twp., Lancaster County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin B. and Bertha Zeager Shelly. She was the wife of Howard N. Brubaker for 67 years. A homemaker, Mary was a faithful member of Erisman Mennonite Church where she taught Vacation Bible School and was a member of the Sewing Circle over the years. In addition to solving jigsaw puzzles and crocheting, she enjoyed quilting, with one of her quilts covering a bed in the Monticello home of former United States President Thomas Jefferson. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Donald, husband of Marian Whisler Brubaker, of Landisville, and Elaine, wife of Fred MacDonald, of Strafford, NH; four grandchildren; and 2 great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Ruth Shelly, Menno Shelly, and Paul Shelly. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2015 at 2:00 PM at West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543 with Andrew Miller and Donna Mack Shenk officiating. The family will receive guests at Landis Homes on Sunday afternoon from 12:30 PM until the time of service. Interment will be private at Erisman Mennonite Cemetery.
