Obituary of Susan M. Blantz

Susan M. Blantz, 65, of Manheim, PA, formerly of Lititz, passed away on Friday evening, November 27, 2015 at Mount Hope Nazarene Retirement Community in Manheim following a lengthy illness. Born in Lititz, she was the daughter of the late Robert K. Long and Florence E. Hullihen Hertz. She was the wife of Arlington R. "Ray" Blantz for 30 years on June 1. A graduate of Warwick High School, she was a member of Hernley Mennonite Church. Sue was employed as a nurse's aide for nearly 40 years. She was first employed by Conestoga View followed by Brethren Village. Her last employment was with the former Mount Hope Dunkard Brethren Home. In addition to knitting, she enjoyed baking, especially at Christmastime. One of her family's favorite was her sand tarts. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Kenneth E. Leisey of Lancaster, Donna M., wife of William White, of Manheim, and Debra L., wife of John Trimble, Jr., of Manheim; five step children, Kandy Sue Blantz of Manheim, Arlington Ray Blantz, III of Manheim, Jeffrey L., husband of Jennifer Blantz, of Manheim, Bill Joe, husband of Lisa Markley, of Elizabethtown, and Brian, husband of Cindy Markley, of Elizabethtown; and 15 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert W. Long. A memorial service will be held on Saturday afternoon, December 5, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Hernley Mennonite Church, 746 Lebanon Road, Manheim, PA 17545. Interment will be private. There will be no viewing. The family will receive guests at the church on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
