Doreen E. "Peach" (Turner) Stewart, 72, of Manheim, PA, formerly of Lancaster, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Bob Fryer Family Inpatient Center of Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy. Born in Lancaster on August 12, 1943, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel Simmons Jacoby. She was the wife of the late Donald C. Stewart who died in May 2, 1970. Peach was an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ in East Petersburg where she was a greeter and served enthusiastically on the flower committee. Previously, she was actively involved at the former St. Andrew's United Church of Christ in Lancaster. Prior to retiring in 1995, she was employed as a machine operator by Armstrong World Industries in the tile plant in Lancaster for 12 years. She then worked as a production worker for Dutch Gold Honey until she retired a second time. She spent her retirement being a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her. Peach was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Manheim VFW. She loved camping and going to the beach, and playing cards with family and friends. Peach will be lovingly missed by three children, Kelly L., wife of Barry A. Bracken, Robert H., husband of Jennifer Rosenberry Turner, and James H. Turner, all of Manheim; a step-son, Donald Stewart of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Jacoby Mummaw, wife of John Mummaw, of Lancaster; and nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Turner, and three brothers, William "Mike" Bitner, Jack Jacoby, and Terry Simmons. A memorial service will be held on Saturday morning, April 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Trinity United Church of Christ, 2340 State Road, East Petersburg, PA with Rev. Dr. Christopher M. Rankin officiating. There will be no public viewing. The family will receive guests at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Please omit flowers.
