Obituary of Hannah M. Lawson
Please share a memory of Hannah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Hannah M. Lawson, 70, of Lancaster, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Bob Fryer and Family Inpatient Center of Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy following a lengthy illness. Born in New Holland, she was the daughter of the late Christ and Sara S. Lapp Beiler. She was the wife of the late Rabin B. Lawson for 39 years before his passing in 2005.
Hannah was a faithful member of Lancaster Church of the Nazarene. She was employed for 10 years as a bank teller by Fulton Bank at the Greenfield branch. She was past president of the Intercourse Lioness Club and a former member of the Witmer Fire Company Auxiliary. She enjoyed volunteering with Lancaster County Project for the Needy and Operation Christmas Child. In addition to flower gardening, cooking, and participating in Bible study groups, Hannah was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan. She had a lifelong curiosity for learning and shared that passion with her family.
She is survived by two children, Catherine M., wife of D. Scott Montague, of Lancaster and Rabin Mark Lawson of Simi Valley, CA; four grandchildren, Lindsay Gregg, Lauren Hill, Daniel Montague, and Raina Lawson; three great grandchildren; four siblings, Lydia Ann Beiler of Gordonville, Naomi, wife of Josiah Beiler, of Gap, Ruth, wife of LeRoy Zook, of New Holland, and Melvin, husband of Becky Beiler, of Gordonville; and a special friend, Earl Moyer of Manheim, with whom she shared many special activities, volunteering opportunities, and grew to love the members of East Fairview Church of the Brethren.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to Scott and Jen Wimer for their love and support of Mom over the years. She loved you both very much.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 10:00 am at Lancaster Church of the Nazarene, 2150 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA. Interment will follow in the Bareville Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the church on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 pm and on Friday morning from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Please omit flowers. If desired, contributions may be made to Lancaster County Project for the Needy, 5813 Wild Lilac Drive, East Petersburg, PA 17520.
