Raymond B. Ebersole, 86, formerly of Elstonville, PA, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday afternoon, July 2, 2016 at Landis Homes in Lititz following a period of declining health. Born in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Samuel K. and Amy Burkholder Ebersole. He was the husband of the late Leah S. Ober Ebersole for 45 years before her passing in 1995. Raymond was a member of Hernley Mennonite Church in Manheim and attended Covenant Fellowship in Lititz for many years. He was a life-long dairy farmer in Penn Twp. and was also employed by Manheim Auto Auction as a lane manager for more than 30 years. He also worked part time at Conestoga Auction in Manheim and provided automobile transport for George Poulas in Philadelphia. Raymond also was a Conklin products representative for a time. He enjoyed hunting game on his farm. He is survived by six children, Deborah E., wife of the late John J. Risser, of Hershey, R. Daryl Ebersole of Manheim, Donna K., wife of Jay R. Campbell, of Manheim, Doris J., wife of Jeffrey C. DeHart, of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Denise L. Snyder, wife of Dennis L. Kerstetter, of Elizabethtown, and Douglas L., husband of Beth N. Weaver Ebersole, of Manheim; eight grandchildren, Emily, wife of Matthew Lehman, Jay Campbell, Jr., Jennifer MacDonald, Jacob Risser, Jonathan Risser, Alexandria Kerstetter, Dalton Kerstetter, and Jared Ebersole; and a brother-in-law, Russell, husband of Dorothy Strite, of Gettysburg. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Michelle DeHart, and a sister, Fannie Louise Strite. The family wishes to thank the staff of Landis Homes for the care Raymond received while he lived there. A funeral service will be held on Thursday morning, July 7, 2016 at 11:00 am at Hernley Mennonite Church, 746 Lebanon Road, Manheim. The family will receive guests at the West Bethany Chapel at Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543 on Wednesday evening from 7-9:00 pm and at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Please omit flowers. If desired, contributions may be made in his memory to the caring fund of Landis Homes.
