Darlene S. Zeigler, 86, of Manheim, PA, went home to be with her Lord on Monday evening, December 5, 2016 at Pleasant View Retirement Community in Manheim. Born in Lititz, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lillie Stoner Hossler. She was the wife of Samuel H. Zeigler for 51 years on March 5. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gilbert Plasterer in 1964.
Darlene was a member of East Fairview Church of the Brethren in Manheim. In her early years, she was employed by the former Noggles Garment Factory. Later she worked for Shick Electric and Warner Lambert, where she retired from its successor, Pfizer, in 1992. However, her primary interest was always taking care of her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Barry Hossler, of Ocala, FL, Dale Plasterer of Mount Joy, James Plasterer of California, Kathy Jo, wife of Jeremy Jackson, of Graham, WA, and Barry Zeigler, of Virginia; eight grandchildren; two great granddaughters; and three siblings, Ruth Baker, Helen, wife of Carl Moyer, and Jay "Butch", husband of Gladys Hossler, all of Manheim. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Martin Hossler and Harry Hossler, Jr.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at 10:00 AM at East Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 1187 Fairview Road, Manheim, PA 17545. There will be no public viewing.
